Treetop Walk reports record season

The Treetop Walk near Neuschönau in the Bavarian Forest is welcoming more visitors than ever — the wooden observation tower remains a crowd-puller.

City Life

The Treetop Walk in the Bavarian Forest National Park near Neuschönau has reported a record season. More guests than ever before in the same period walked the 1.3-kilometre path through the treetops and up the 44-metre, egg-shaped observation tower in the early months of the year. On a clear day, the view from the platform stretches across the forests all the way to the Alps. The low-barrier path climbs at a gentle gradient, making life in and above the canopy accessible even for families with prams and for wheelchair users. The operators attribute the surge to the continued interest in nature-focused holidays and the good connection to the hiking area around the Lusen. During peak season, an early-morning visit is recommended.
